WMGLD Offers Credit Card Payment Option
(Wakefield, MA) – To enhance service to its customers, the Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light Department (WMGLD) is now accepting credit card payments for its monthly bills. Customers have the option of using their credit card for a one-time payment or they can set up a monthly automatic payment with the Business Office.
As part of this new service, WMGLD customers can make their payment using MasterCard or Visa credit cards. They can make their payments or set up their automatic payment at the WMGLD Business Office during regular business hours (Monday through Wednesday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) or by calling 781-246-6363. There is no on-line payment option at the present time.
Customers with a balance in arrears can also use the credit card payment option to pay their total bill.
“This is an opportunity for WMGLD customers to streamline their bill paying when they select the automatic monthly payment option,” WMGLD General Manager Pete Dion said. “We recognize that many customers rely on at-home accounting programs to manage their finances and this payment-by-credit card option will give them greater flexibility.”
According to the General Manager, the WMGLD expects to enhance its billing software to offer on-line payment options in the future. Customers can still make their payments using cash, checks, money orders or monthly debits.
